Contract Role: Intelligence Consultant
Contract Location: Hybrid (London office and Remote)
Contract Duration: Starting ASAP – 6 months initially (inside IR35)
In addition to business development, the Intelligence Consultant role will be responsible for designing, mobilising, overseeing, and in some cases, delivering high quality strategic, operational, tactical and investigative intelligence outputs across both public and private sector environments. The role requires a strong background in intelligence practice, ideally gained in government, law enforcement, defence or a related intelligence function.
This role would suit someone who has moved beyond individual contributor intelligence work and is comfortable operating at the intersection of intelligence methodology, consulting delivery, workforce design, client engagement and operational governance. The individual will play a central role in translating client requirements into workable delivery models, defining methodologies, designing training pathways and supporting the deployment of intelligence professionals into client environments.
- Strong understanding of intelligence cycle, intelligence requirements and structured analytical methodologies.
- Experience with source evaluation, information reliability and evidential standards.
- Experience supporting the collection of real time information and investigating the threat landscape, covering online risks, reputational risks, identification of criminal behaviour, trends, early-warning indicators, narrative and sentiment to help deliver insights.
- Ability to design delivery models, workflows, SOPs and governance frameworks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience hiring, coaching or training intelligence professionals.
- Ability to work with senior clients and internal stakeholders.
- Knowledge of secure working practices and information handling.
- Ability to work in ambiguity and translate broad client issues into structured intelligence tasks.
Desirable Skills:
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Intelligence, Security, Threat Intelligence, Cyber Security or any intelligence-related certifications).
- Experience working on the design of intelligence processes.
- Experience identifying and countering online misinformation and disinformation narratives.
- Experience delivering or supporting strategic communications campaigns and/or policy-focussed research.
- Meticulous attention to detail and steadfast focus on quality and risk management.
- A proactive attitude and ability to problem solve, identify and manage issues, and elevate as necessary.
- Professional project management qualification.
- A professional and confident communication style and an ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Ability to speak additional languages.
- Experience designing managed service or operate-style delivery models.
- Security clearance.
- Knowledge of UK government, policing, regulatory or financial services environments.
- Experience supporting proposals, commercial bids or statements of work.
- Familiarity with OSINT tooling, due diligence platforms, case management tools, workflow systems or intelligence databases.
