Contract Role: Senior Data Engineer Contract Location: London 4-5 days onsite each week Contract Start: Starting ASAP (inside IR35) Contract duration: End of 2026
The Senior Data Engineer is the one who designs andbuilds data foundations and end to end solutions for the business to maximizevalue from data. The role helps create a data-driven thinking within theorganization, not just within IT teams, but also in the wider Businessstakeholder community. A Senior Data engineer is expected to be a subjectmatter expert, who design & build data solutions and mentor juniorengineers. They are also the key drivers to convert Vison and Data Strategy forIT solutions and deliver.

- Technology expert who constantly pursues knowledgeenhancement and has inherent curiosity to understand work from multipledimensions.
- Deep data focus with expertise in technology domain
- A skilled communicator capable of speaking to bothtechnical developers and business managers. Respected and trusted by leadersand staff.
- Actively delivers the roll-out and embedding of DataFoundation initiatives in support of the key business programmers.
- Coordinate the change management process, incidentmanagement and problem management process.
- Present reports and findings to key stakeholders andbe the subject matter expert on Data Analysis &Design.
- Drive implementation efficiency and effectiveness acrossthe pilots and future projects to minimize cost, increase speed ofimplementation and maximize value delivery.
- Contributes to community building initiatives likeCoE, CoP.

- Experience in project management, running a scrumteam.

Project Description: High Level Objective
- the business aims to leverage information flow advantageacross RDS to improve decision making and trading bias based on data insights.
- The project will increase value creation throughcollaboration, creating new cross commodity trading opportunities (in bothCrude and Products).
- It will provide better investment in analysiscapabilities, tools and infrastructure and more rapidly deploy near term valuecreation for trading desks.
- The initial part will tackle thelow hanging fruit, getting things out of Excel, unlocking the power of newvisualisation tools, restructuring and cleaning up existing models.
- This part will deliver initiatives tosupport better analysis of Refinery maintenance, Crude supply & demand andGasoline supply and demand amongst others.
- The core Cloudera platform deployment willensure we create a Data Lake and not a Data Swamp and will improve decisionmaking & trading bias via insights from data
- An Asset Capacity & Maintenance deployment willgive T&S the summary of planned and unplanned Refinery Maintenance plusCapacity information
