A leading global investment banking organisation is seeking a Senior Python Analytics & Technology Engineer to support a Strategic Equity Solutions business. This role sits within a specialist analytics function focused on technology development, reporting automation, systems integration and data engineering. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders and technology teams to build scalable analytics solutions, automate reporting processes and support strategic technology initiatives across the equities business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance analytics applications using Python and SQL.
- Build automated data pipelines, ETL processes and reporting solutions.
- Implement production-grade monitoring, logging, testing and performance optimisation.
- Maintain code repositories, documentation and deployment processes.
Reporting & Analytics
- Develop and maintain management information and operational reporting.
- Deliver ad-hoc analysis and data insights to support business decision making.
- Automate manual reporting processes and improve data quality controls.
- Reconcile and validate data across multiple internal platforms.
Systems & Change Delivery
- Support technology enhancements, system integrations and workflow improvements.
- Gather business requirements and produce functional documentation.
- Coordinate testing activities including UAT, regression testing and defect management.
- Partner with technology teams to onboard new data sources, APIs and services.
Technical Must‑Haves
- Strong Python development (pandas, data engineering workflows, automated scripts, APIs).
- Advanced SQL (schema design, query optimisation, stored procedures).
- Experience deploying and maintaining applications in a production environment (CI/CD, job schedulers, monitoring).
- Ability to design robust ETL processes and ensure data integrity.
- Understanding of OTC Equity Derivatives.
- Working understanding of RWA, TCE, and capital usage concepts.
Project Management & Delivery
- Experience working with technology teams on system enhancements, integrations, or migrations.
- Ability to write clear requirements, test functionality, and track issues.
- Comfortable with iterative development and changing priorities.
