A leading global financial services organisation is seeking a highly technical Java Developer to join a front-office technology team supporting FX trading platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with trading desks, quantitative teams and technology stakeholders to develop and enhance low-latency, high-performance trading systems within a complex capital markets environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and support high-performance server-side Java applications within FX trading environments.
  • Work closely with traders, quants and technology leadership to deliver business-critical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain pricing, analytics and algorithmic trading capabilities.
  • Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements through to production deployment and support.
  • Support and enhance production systems, including 3rd line support activities.
  • Drive improvements in performance, scalability, resilience and automation.
  • Collaborate within Agile development teams and contribute to best engineering practices.

Qualifications

  • Must have Java server-side development experience.
  • Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, design patterns and multi-threaded programming.
  • Experience across the full technology stack including Java, Linux and networking.
  • Experience with KDB/Q.
  • Previous experience within pricing, electronic trading or algorithmic trading environments.
  • Strong SDLC experience including Git, Jenkins, Ansible and CI/CD tooling.
  • Experience supporting production trading applications.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within high-performing technical teams.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related analytical discipline.
