Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled GCP Provisioning Engineer to join a large-scale technology transformation programme within a leading global financial services organisation. This role will focus on the design, provisioning, automation, and optimisation of cloud infrastructure within a modern engineering environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in building scalable cloud platforms, driving infrastructure automation, and enhancing developer productivity through the adoption of modern DevOps and AI-assisted engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, provision, and maintain cloud infrastructure within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments.
  • Build and manage Kubernetes and container‑based platforms to support scalable and resilient applications.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform.
  • Create automation solutions using Python to streamline infrastructure provisioning and operational processes.
  • Implement and enhance automated deployment pipelines for cloud infrastructure and platform services.
  • Work closely with engineering, architecture, and platform teams to ensure cloud environments are secure, scalable, and aligned to best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve platform efficiency, reliability, and developer experience.
  • Drive DevOps optimisation initiatives, leveraging modern tooling and AI‑assisted development capabilities.
  • Support continuous improvement of cloud provisioning, deployment, and operational processes.

Requirements

  • Strong hands‑on experience provisioning and managing Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure.
  • Proven experience with Kubernetes and containerisation technologies in enterprise environments.
  • Experience using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code and automated cloud provisioning.
  • Strong Python development and scripting skills for infrastructure automation.
  • Experience designing and implementing automated infrastructure deployment solutions and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience optimising DevOps via GitHub Co-Pilot and Claude Code.
