Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled GCP Provisioning Engineer to join a large-scale technology transformation programme within a leading global financial services organisation. This role will focus on the design, provisioning, automation, and optimisation of cloud infrastructure within a modern engineering environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in building scalable cloud platforms, driving infrastructure automation, and enhancing developer productivity through the adoption of modern DevOps and AI-assisted engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, provision, and maintain cloud infrastructure within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments.
- Build and manage Kubernetes and container‑based platforms to support scalable and resilient applications.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform.
- Create automation solutions using Python to streamline infrastructure provisioning and operational processes.
- Implement and enhance automated deployment pipelines for cloud infrastructure and platform services.
- Work closely with engineering, architecture, and platform teams to ensure cloud environments are secure, scalable, and aligned to best practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve platform efficiency, reliability, and developer experience.
- Drive DevOps optimisation initiatives, leveraging modern tooling and AI‑assisted development capabilities.
- Support continuous improvement of cloud provisioning, deployment, and operational processes.
Requirements
- Strong hands‑on experience provisioning and managing Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure.
- Proven experience with Kubernetes and containerisation technologies in enterprise environments.
- Experience using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code and automated cloud provisioning.
- Strong Python development and scripting skills for infrastructure automation.
- Experience designing and implementing automated infrastructure deployment solutions and CI/CD practices.
- Experience optimising DevOps via GitHub Co-Pilot and Claude Code.
