This is an exciting opportunity to join Deloitte Operations for an engagement with one of our premiere Tier 1 Investment Banking clients. The Credit Loans Middle Office Team supports various business teams with the origination, syndication, and secondary market trading of performing and non-performing loans. While loans are the primary product supported, the business continues to expand into other areas such as structured products and private equities.
Credit Loans Middle Office works in partnership with various business teams to ensure efficient pre-trade due diligence, execution and settlement (the ‘closing’ role) of both primary and secondary loans. The team is responsible for helping to maintain the integrity and accuracy of the risk positions taken by the firm and resolving any trade settlement issues that may arise.
Key Accountabilities:- Monitoring trading systems for new trades and confirming trades with outside clients.
- Drafting, reviewing & negotiating transfer documents (including trade confirms & transfer certificates).
- Liaising with Legal, Compliance, Credit, Trading Desks, Agency and Servicing teams to ensure necessary approvals are obtained, pricing/cashflows are agreed, reconciled and settled within our system.
- 2+ years’ experience working with distressed loans, distressed debt, non-performing loans (NPLs), leveraged loans, or special situations within an investment banking environment. Candidates with 5–8+ years’ experience are also encouraged to apply.
- Experience of Loan Market Association (LMA) and/or Loan Syndications and Trading Association (LSTA).
- Hands-on experience using ClearPar for loan trade settlement, workflow management, documentation processing, and coordination of primary and secondary loan transactions.
- Demonstrable experience across loan closing, loan servicing or loan agency supporting primary and secondary loan markets.
- Must have Middle office operations experience.
- Strong understanding of the loan lifecycle, including trade capture, settlement, funding, lifecycle events, amendments, restructurings and reconciliations.
- Experience interpreting and navigating Loan Credit Agreements, transfer documentation and trade confirmations.
- Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating transfer documentation, including trade confirms and transfer certificates.
- Strong understanding of settlement processes for performing and non-performing loans.
- Professional approach and ability to communicate well directly with external parties such as borrowers, lenders and other agents.
