Data Analysts in DMS Digital play a vital role in transforming raw data into actionable insights to support project delivery and strategic decision‑making. They are responsible for extracting, combining, transforming, and analysing complex datasets, primarily utilising SQL Server and other data tools. They ensure data quality, develop robust reporting, and provide critical analytical support throughout the project lifecycle, enabling informed solutions for internal and external clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Extraction & Collection: Working alongside Business Analysts, Solution Architects, and client stakeholders to identify, extract, and collect relevant data from various sources, including SQL Server databases, for analysis.
  • Data Transformation & Modelling: Designing and implementing data transformation processes (ETL/ELT) to cleanse, combine, and structure raw data into suitable formats for analysis and reporting, often using SQL.
  • Data Analysis & Interpretation: Performing in-depth analysis of complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform project decisions and client solutions.
  • Data Requirements Definition: Collaborating with stakeholders to define clear and comprehensive data requirements for new solutions, reports, and analytical tools.
  • Reporting & Visualisation: Developing and maintaining accurate and insightful reports, dashboards, and visualisations to communicate key findings and performance metrics to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Implementing and monitoring data quality checks to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data used in analysis and reporting.
  • Data Tool Configuration: Assisting with the setup, configuration, and administration of a range of data analysis and reporting tools during development, testing, operational readiness, or during operational support.
  • Data Documentation & Reporting: Creation of a variety of documents for data dictionaries, data lineage, analytical methodologies, and regular performance reports.
  • Data Governance & Standards: Contributing to the ongoing development and review of technical principles and standards applicable to data assessment, quality, design, build, and analysis activities in DMS Digital.
  • Data Risk Management: Supporting the development, maintenance, improvement, and management of risk controls pertaining to the activities of data analysis and reporting within DMS Digital.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar data‑focused role, within a consulting environment or on client‑facing projects.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL Server for data extraction, transformation, and manipulation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in developing reports and dashboards using business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in data modelling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience with other database technologies (e.g., Azure SQL Database, PostgreSQL).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages for data analysis (e.g., Python, R).
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Databricks).
