What are the main activities and tasks involved?
- Lead and manage financial due diligence engagements across buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions
- Provide strategic insights and actionable recommendations to clients based on thorough financial analysis
- Oversee quality control processes to ensure all deliverables meet Deloitte's highest professional standards
- Serve as the primary client contact during engagements, managing expectations and fostering lasting relationships
- Supervise and mentor junior team members, supporting their technical and professional development
- Support business development by proactively building relationships with private equity firms, corporate clients, and advisors
- Represent Deloitte at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to enhance the firm’s profile
- Collaborate with other Deloitte service lines to identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities
- Prepare compelling proposals and pitch presentations for prospective clients
- Maintain and expand a strong network of referral sources and cultivate new business relationships
What qualifications and skills are required?
- Strong experience in Transaction Services with a proven track record in financial due diligence
- Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Demonstrable experience leading complex due diligence engagements across various industries and deal sizes
- Strong technical accounting and financial analysis skills
- Experience in business development
- Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to identify key value drivers and transaction risks
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences
- Strong project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously
- Leadership qualities with experience managing and developing teams
- High attention to detail combined with strategic thinking ability
Who will I be reporting to and what is their leadership style? You will report to the Partner of Transaction Services, a seasoned leader with deep expertise in M&A and financial due diligence. Their leadership style is supportive and empowering, focused on fostering a collaborative team environment and encouraging innovation. They value integrity, client-centricity, and professional development, providing clear guidance while promoting autonomy and accountability.
Where will I be working and what is the working model? This role is based in our Dublin or Belfast office, operating within a flexible hybrid working model that balances office presence with remote working to support your productivity and wellbeing. You will also have opportunities to work on client sites as required.
