Financial institutions face a period of unprecedented changes in terms of regulatory challenges, emerging technologies, and customer expectations. Against this backdrop, Deloitte's Credit Risk Measurement practice assists clients in streamlining and transforming their end-to-end Credit Risk Operating Model including key credit risk processes. A particular focus for the team is supporting clients with enhancing their stress testing, scenario analysis and climate risk management capabilities.
In response to the growing demand for the team’s services, we are looking for a Manager to join the team, working on stress testing and/or climate risk management engagements at a range of clients and to work on initiatives to support the growth of our business.
Responsibilities
- Supporting clients in meeting regulatory expectations and requirements for stress testing and climate risk management.
- Supporting development, validation, and/or implementation of stress testing and/or climate risk models.
- Supporting end-to-end reviews of stress testing and/or climate risk management processes and frameworks to assess opportunities for enhancement and recommending innovative solutions to increase productivity and reduce costs.
- Supporting reviews and delivery of all aspects of banks' stress testing and/or climate risk management processes including scenario design, model execution, results analysis, governance, and reporting.
- Supporting clients with the appropriate integration of stress testing and/or climate risk into their risk management processes.
- Supporting clients with climate scenario analysis, advising them on how to incorporate climate risk into their scenario analysis and stress testing programmes.
- Supporting clients with the analysis of physical and transition risks across retail and wholesale portfolio to help navigate strategic and regulatory compliance.
- Supporting business development opportunities with clients and Deloitte network and contributing to practice growth.
- Being flexible and collaborative in taking on other duties commensurate with the grade and the nature of the post.
- Working effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.
Qualifications
- At least 4 years of relevant professional work experience.
- A passion for stress testing and/or climate risk management and a very strong desire to be part of the team.
- Stress testing and/or climate risk management experience in a project‐based banking environment or a consulting environment covering at least two of the following: Scenario design or expansion, Stress testing and/or climate risk model development, validation, or implementation, Stress testing and/or climate risk reporting & analytics, Stress testing and/or climate risk management processes and frameworks.
- Knowledge of UK regulatory requirements on stress testing and/or climate risk management.
- Strong business communication skills, both verbally and through the use of PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to delivering excellence to clients.
- Proactive, highly collaborative, and capable of working independently.
- Some project management and people management experience.
- Experience/knowledge of stress testing and/or climate risk management.
- Knowledge of economics/finance.
- Knowledge of broader bank credit risk processes.
- Knowledge/experience of designing/implementing stress testing and/or climate risk processes & frameworks.
- Knowledge/experience of coding languages (e.g. Python, SAS, R).
Hybrid Working Policy
You’ll be based in London with hybrid working. We’ll support you to work flexibly through our hybrid working policy. Depending on the requirements of your role, you’ll have the opportunity to work in your local office, virtual collaboration spaces, client sites and remotely.
