The Financial Assurance team specialise in assuring the financial statement, transactions and accounting. You will be principally focused on improving the reliability and efficiency of finance processes and controls for external financial reporting with an impressive portfolio of clients.
We are seeking experienced and technical professionals with an accounting assurance and/or industry background to join our fast-growing team, share in our vision, support our growth plans and make an impact that matters on our clients, our people, our business and society.
This opportunity offers a variety of exciting opportunities to add value to our clients through a range of projects, including complex accounting assurance services, pre and post transaction support, GAAP conversions and new accounting standard support. The extent of our offerings will ensure you gain an unrivalled breadth of varied and well-rounded experience working with some of the most complex, fastest growing, and exciting companies across the globe.
As a Manager you will be part of a team providing high quality accounting advice to our clients, specifically:
- Advising clients on IFRS and UK GAAP accounting queries
- Assessing the impact of new accounting standards such as IFRS 9 and 17 and assisting clients with implementation
- Performing accounting policy and financial statements reviews
- Drafting technical accounting papers
- Supporting clients with financial reporting processes
- Assisting our clients with analytics
In addition to the above, you will also assist the team more broadly in:
- Developing long lasting relationships with stakeholders inside and outside of the Deloitte network
- Identifying market opportunities and assisting with business development activities
- Training, coaching and supervising staff in the CFO Advisory team
- Identifying new and innovative ways of working (e.g. alternative delivery models)
Experience auditing insurance companies or working within the insurance industry is essential. Knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP and/or Solvency II, as well as the insurance industry more broadly (IFRS 17 experience is an advantage) is required. You should have commercial awareness of the issues and challenges faced by Insurance CFOs, strong knowledge of the insurance industry, and knowledge or awareness of developments in Insurance regulation.
Confident in presenting to, and building lasting relationships with, senior client stakeholders, you should possess a relevant accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA or equivalent), a collaborative approach, and be a good team player, even when under pressure. Project and people management experience, evidence of strong leadership skills, and managing client relationships are also important.
