The Controls Advisory team supports those accountable for managing organisations risks and compliance requirements through driving efficiency, effectiveness, and modernisation of their control environment to achieve better business outcomes. We focus on increasing our client's confidence in their compliance and control whilst reducing cost and effort.
Our team works cross industry helping senior client leaders with some of their most important and reputationally impactful challenges.
We are seeking an IT Controls Advisory Director who has practical delivery experience of assessing, designing, and implementing Technology process controls and are looking to develop your career in a marketâleading controls advisory team.
You will lead multiâdisciplinary teams and utilise your knowledge of risk and controls and your project management experience to assess, design and implement business process controls for a wide range of clients across multiple industries. This includes applying knowledge of emerging technology such as AI and leveraging technology to drive improvements throughout the control lifecycle from assessing risks to implementing, monitoring, and testing controls.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading teams of professionals, and managing projects to ensure they deliver client outcomes.
- Managing engagement financials to ensure projects are profitable.
- Building and developing networks with Deloitte Professionals and Client Stakeholders.
- Documenting processes and designing business process controls across all financial reporting cycles and nonâfinancial reporting metrics.
- Applying your risk and controls experience to support clients in meeting specific requirements e.g. SOX, UK Corporate Governance Reform.
- Supporting our clients with the implementation or remediation of business process controls either through a standalone project or part of a wider controls transformation including other controls specialists.
- Leading testing of manual and IT dependent controls, and collaborating with our technology colleagues to support their testing of the relevant IT elements.
- Delivering end to end project management activities including project set up, monitoring, and reporting.
- Guiding, managing and leading team members within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.
- Actively managing key risks or issues and proactively communicating to management (both internally and client stakeholders) as required.
- Developing client relationships and managing communications with key project stakeholders.
- Project manage delivery and communicate engagement issues and findings to senior management and client personnel.
- Lead market activities including preparing and finalising GTM materials, responding to proposals and bid activities.
- Leading strong client relationships through interactions with client personnel, ensuring quality in delivering of client service.
A strong background in assessing, designing, and implementing IT/Digital controls within an external audit, internal audit, internal controls, or equivalent role is required.
Demonstrable experience working as part of a multiâdisciplinary team, e.g., alongside business process specialists, to identify and implement automated controls, particularly within complex IT environments common in TMT.
Experience with specific regulations e.g. SarbanesâOxley, UK Corporate Governance Reform.
Excellent communicator with the ability to articulate complex ideas, and effectively manage key stakeholders.
Proven ability to understand, mitigate and manage risk.
Proven ability to structure and deliver projects.
Proven ability to lead and direct teams across multiple locations.
Excellent people management and development skills with a strong focus on team development.
Industry specific risk and controls expertise e.g. Financial Services.
Holding or eligible for UK Security Clearance.
