The Controls Advisory team supports those accountable for managing Financial Service organisations' technology risks and compliance requirements through driving efficiency, effectiveness and modernisation of their control environment to achieve better business outcomes and meet regulatory expectations. We focus on increasing our client’s confidence in their risk and control environment whilst reducing cost and effort. Our team works across the Financial Services sector helping senior client leaders with some of their most important and reputationally impactful challenges.
As a Senior Manager within the practice you will oversee a variety of work including transformation and advisory work such as controls uplift, target operating model changes, as well as leading assurance work for Financial Services clients. You will support in delivery of clients’ engagements across different engagement teams and managers where you will be required to collaborate effectively. Working across all parts of the business to assess the risk around IT systems that generate financially relevant information. You will demonstrate and develop your capabilities in the following areas:
- Understand the client’s problem statements relating to inefficiencies, ineffectiveness or audit related issues in their control environment and recommend changes.
- Identify opportunities to improve the people, process and technology underpinning the controls management lifecycle at clients.
- Develop and prioritise the delivery of scaled advisory work, supporting the clients realise the benefits.
- Apply problem solving and critical thinking to enable the identification of Technology and Data Risks associated with the Business Processes.
- Assess the technology risk associated with the IT environment that support the core business processes and IT Applications.
- Assess the effectiveness of the system of internal control against best practices and industry standards.
- Evaluate the control deficiencies and assess the business, technology, and compliance impact.
- Communicate engagement issues and findings to senior management and client personnel.
- Work effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.
- Contribute to a strong client relationship through interactions with client personnel, ensuring quality in delivering of client service.
- Develop strong client relationships beyond the delivery cycle that can be used in support of business development.
- Support propositions and proposals as well as Go-To-Market activity.

- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in any of the following disciplines: Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Security, Accounting / Auditing / Finance / Economics / Business Administration and a Postgraduate Qualification in a relevant area. Other academic background with quantitative skills and relevant experience will also be considered as a strong asset.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including in English (Proficiency).
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain a professional demeanor.
The following will be considered an asset:
- Professional certification such as CISA, CISSP, CRISC, CIPM, CISM, ISO Certifications, CIA, ACCA, ACA, ITIL, ERM, DASCA, SDS, Azure, CCA, SAS.
- Working knowledge of technologies and platforms including Operating Systems (Windows, Unix, Linux), Databases (Oracle, SQL etc.), Network Infrastructure (firewalls, routers, networking protocols) and enterprise-wide applications (SAP 4/HANA, Oracle, Navision, JDE etc.).
- Data Analytics, Process mining and BPM tools will be considered an asset such as Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, ACL, SAS, Celonis, Pega, Aris, Signavio, Blueprism.
- Financial Services, Fintech, Telecommunications, and media background.
