We are seeking a highly motivated Higher Education Market Lead with a strong background in designing and delivering solutions to universities and potentially other educational institutions. This individual will play critical roles in leading the shaping, design, implementation and overall end-to-end management of large-scale projects. The ideal candidate has proven experience in leading large teams and possesses a deep understanding of Higher Education processes, data and business change.
- Project Shaping, Business Analysis & Functional Design: Lead and manage a team across Discovery and Implementation project phases. Collaborate with business stakeholders across different organisational functions to gather, analyse and translate business needs into scalable and compliant solutions. Lead a team to deliver high quality functional outputs, as well as enable collaboration of team members across other connected streams of work including service design, user research, user experience, and development build. Plan and execute engaging, high quality functional workshops to elicit business needs.
- Roadmap planning and process design: Lead and manage a team to deliver current and target state process design, including how these business/organisational processes are enabled by technology. Create product and capability roadmaps that incorporate factors such as business, logical order of build, architectural transition states, timelines and cost, aligned to the service blueprint. Stay abreast of industry best practices and vendor product releases, evaluating and recommending new features and functionalities to enhance employee and customer/citizen experiences.
- Delivery Leadership: Lead and manage a team of often geographically dispersed Salesforce professionals of varying backgrounds and experience levels, including developers, business analysts, service designers, user researchers, testers, and functional consultants. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Manage project timelines, risks, budgets, and resources, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery for our clients. Create and execute project plans across the end-to-end project lifecycle. Set up ways of working, templates and frameworks to drive high quality standards of output.
- Business Development: Understand the market dynamics and different product choices for University Systems and Processes to have informed conversations in the market. Work with University Leadership to scope a project, and develop the business case for a change of university platforms and services, including system implementations as part of a wider operating model/Service Design change. Lead and support RFP responses and other related pre-sales activities.
Overall, you are an ideas person and problem solver as well as a hands-on doer. You know it takes a mix of people to do amazing work, so you love collaborating with and learning from people with different skills, backgrounds and perspectives. Background in successfully delivering University (CRM/SRS/LMS etc) projects in the education sector (which could also include the wider Public and Not for Profit sectors), in client-facing and team leadership roles as a Functional Lead and/or Delivery Lead. Experience in lead roles on both Discovery and Implementation project phases, as well as transition to support/operate. Experience in designing, leading and managing delivery teams, using Agile and Waterfall-based delivery frameworks. Proven track record of investment in building high performing, diverse teams to successfully deliver programme goals. Experience in leading teams to deliver high quality key artefacts including design blueprints, process documentation, user stories and acceptance criteria, user personas etc. Experience in the end-to-end technology delivery lifecycle, including a strong understanding of the roles, responsibilities and skillsets required within each workstream, and effective management and mitigation of risks and issues. Extensive experience in gathering and documenting business needs, performing business analysis and functional design. Experience with product roadmap definition. Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and senior stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Proven ability to define, effectively document and confidently present recommendations to senior stakeholders. Experience in enabling collaboration and integration across other programme workstreams including data and migration, integration, project management, architecture build, testing and release, to manage risk and ensure end to end delivery success. Core project management experience, including management of risks, issues, actions and dependencies, as well as workstream, project and programme level planning. Experience in mentoring and coaching junior talent. Experience contributing to, or leading, RFP responses and other pre-sales activities (e.g., story-boarding, research, demo set ups, pre-sales conversations, high level solution design, pricing and resource planning etc.) is preferred. Ability to travel (potentially abroad) to client sites 80-100% of the time.
