We are seeking an Assistant Director to join the industry-leading Strategy & Business Design team in the Consumer sector. The experts in our Consumer team are passionate about everything to do with this exciting and market-leading sector. We undertake evidence-driven strategy assignments for the world’s largest CPG and Consumer clients, developing solutions to their most challenging issues. We work closely with our colleagues in Transactions Advisory across all aspects of M&A. Additionally, we act as a portal to enable our clients to draw on the breadth of Deloitte services across Consulting, Corporate Finance, Audit Advisory, Risk and Tax.

You will be supporting and managing projects for the world’s largest CPG companies. We will provide a range of support to help you reach this ambitious goal – from bespoke career development advice, to on-the-job training, and access to a vast catalogue of formal training opportunities.

The Assistant Director will be delivering outcomes including:

  • Client service – delivering excellent and distinctive client service through insightful analytical problem solving and development of high quality strategic recommendations. The Assistant Director will be responsible for managing client expectations on a day-to-day basis and leading client meetings and presentations;
  • Project, quality & risk management – planning and managing complex projects on time and to budget, and considering all risk and quality aspects;
  • People & team leadership – leading, managing and coaching junior resources as part of project delivery and within the practice;
  • Relationship management – building networks and liaising with other Deloitte leaders and teams to ensure client experience is seamless;
  • Business growth – building relationships with existing and new clients and through internal networks, to develop and convert a pipeline of work through winning proposals;
  • Practice contributions – leading and supporting practice development initiatives, developing initiatives and eminence within Strategy & Business Design and the TMT industry.

Essential experience for the Assistant Director role includes:

  • Work experience in strategy consulting or undertaking consulting equivalent projects within the CPG and Consumer industry;
  • Depth of knowledge of the CPG and consumer industry in the UK and ideally also in Europe;
  • The ability to lead a team to deliver complex strategic projects for clients; and pursue sales activities;
  • The ability to manage additional aspects of work alongside client delivery, including quality, risk, and practice development initiatives;

Additional desirable experience for the Assistant Director role includes:

  • Expertise in at least one sector of the Consumer industry (e.g. CPG, Retail, Travel, Hospitality & Leisure);
  • Other relevant qualification (e.g. Masters, MBA, PhD, MSc or equivalent);
  • Membership of a professional body (e.g. ACA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent).
