An Android developer at Deloitte Digital plays a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Android applications. Responsibilities include:

• Contributing to the overall architectural design of mobile applications
• Integrating mobile applications with backend services and databases
• Collaborating with designers to create appealing and user-friendly interfaces
• Testing, debugging, and optimizing performance across devices
• Maintaining technical documentation for code, processes, and configurations
• Communicating effectively with team members and clients to understand requirements
• Staying updated on Android development trends, tools, and technologies
• Implementing security measures to protect user data and privacy

This role requires technical expertise, collaboration skills, and industry knowledge.

You’re an ideas person and problem solver, hands-on and collaborative. A diverse skill set and background are valued, and a portfolio of developed apps is advantageous. Essential skills include:

• Extensive experience with Kotlin; knowledge of Java is beneficial
• Deep familiarity with Android SDK and components
• Experience with Android frameworks like Jetpack (Room, LiveData, ViewModel, etc.)
• Understanding of Material Design and responsive interfaces
• Proficiency in APIs, networking, REST, and JSON/XML
• Knowledge of app lifecycle, deployment, and maintenance
• Experience with Git, testing, debugging, and performance optimization
• Understanding of Android security features
• Ability to stay current with industry trends
• Strong communication skills and leadership ability
