Resource Management (RM) is a business-critical function at Deloitte. It ensures that we have the right people, with the right skills, in the right locations, available at the right time. As a member of the RM team, you will support the business unit leadership and practitioners, playing a crucial role in the implementation and delivery of RM services to provide operational excellence whilst supporting delivery of the business talent strategy.
The role is people-focused and is founded on establishing effective working relationships with all key stakeholders as well as holding, or being keen to develop, a good understanding of Management Information. Resourcing our engagements effectively is critical to business performance, whilst ensuring the experience of our people is maximised.
Ensure that Deloitte clients are provided with the best teams of people, combining industry experience with technical knowledge to ensure maximum commercial advantage. Become a trusted advisor who provides balanced and pragmatic advice around manpower planning and resource management. Own key processes across the RM team in support of Budget Planning, Talent Management, New Joiner & Leaver Processes, MI & Reporting, Learning & Professional Education, Team & Personal Development.
Provide regular and accurate management information, analysis, and advice in areas such as staff availability, utilisation, revenue and forecasting accuracy. Liaise, influence and challenge effectively to resolve issues and build relationships at all levels with multiple stakeholders. Deliver optimal utilisation and revenues for the business unit ensuring consideration of commercial aspects of deployment decisions and providing appropriate challenge where necessary.
Proactively prepare for and lead Resource Management meetings to ensure that critical staffing decisions can be made quickly. Coach and mentor junior scheduling team members. Become an integral member of a close-knit Resource Management team across the wider UK remit.
Confident and skilled verbal and written communicator - ability to cultivate trusted advisor working relationships with practitioners, business unit team members and the wider resource management function. Interpret and analyse Management Information (MI) to identify trends, make connections and spot opportunities to improve profitability. Experience in developing Management Information and strong working knowledge of Excel.
Engage with key stakeholders to deliver creative resourcing solutions and manage any issues (e.g., delays in projects starting, conflicts or staff shortages on assignments). Provide a level of flexibility and agility in the staffing model to respond to new / unplanned client requests as work is won; understand the commercial drivers and be willing to prioritise and re-prioritise to make sure all needs are met.
Ability to plan and prioritise resourcing requirements - and to multitask, managing a significant workload under pressure with excellent attention to detail. A track record of interacting effectively with empathy, impact, and discretion, cultivating trusted advisor working relationships with Business Unit leadership, practitioners and team members.

Our hybrid working policy: This role will be based in Birmingham office, with opportunity for travel within the West Midlands, Cambridge, Southwest and South Central office bases.
