This is a delivery-focused role that requires a self-motivated and driven individual with a \”get it done\” mentality and a passion for helping teams solve complex business and technology problems. Strong agile skills and experience using a wide range of influencing techniques are essential for success, as is the ability to tailor methodology to optimise a fast-paced, outcome-focused delivery environment.

The Scrum Master plays a crucial role in driving continuous improvement of delivery processes and methods within the delivery squads. They also ensure compliance with the processes and standards of the Integration teams, including the use of DevOps tooling and documentation standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Keeping the Team organised, on track, and focused on key priorities.
  • Maintaining the development team\’s organisation and progress on agreed-upon projects, prioritised accordingly.
  • Clearing obstacles and protecting the team from distractions.
  • Facilitating teams in overcoming dependencies, risks, and issues that hinder sprint task completion.
  • Protecting developers\’ time and creating an environment where they can focus on producing their best work.
  • Serving as an Agile subject matter expert for the team, acting as an agile coach to members within the Integration Team, BIIS, and wider IT PMs to enable the delivery of agreed-upon business outcomes.
  • Facilitating Agile processes and ceremonies across multiple delivery squads, monitoring their progress and goal scope, coordinating interaction with other teams, managing task completion processes, and identifying dependencies with other teams.
  • Developing Agile teams and methodology by ensuring compliance and continuous improvement of Agile ceremonies and other tools, creating and maintaining an atmosphere of trust within the team by facilitating retrospectives and feedback, eliminating hindrances, and keeping the list of hindrances updated.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Emotionally intelligent with the ability to flex styles across a wide range of stakeholders at various levels within Integration Team and wider BIIS and IT.
  • Strong facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills to develop new Scrum Masters and continuous learning across the Integration Team and wider BIIS.
  • Deep experience of Agile tools and methodology with a passion and desire for sharing them across the wider organization (i.e.: Story Point estimating, Technical debt management, testing, Burn down, Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.).
  • Strong experience working on AGILE and Waterfall projects and familiarity of framework such as SCRUM, KANBAN.
  • A relevant certification in Agile e.g. Certified ScrumMasterÂŽ or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner.
  • Experience of running Scrum on Azure Devops.
  • Experience to the Release Management and CI/CD process.
  • Understands Service Management (ITIL) principles or experience of using tool such as ServiceNow.
