The Data Office not only ensures that data in the firm flows through the Deloitte Data Lifecycle, but that it does so with high levels of compliance and optimisation, so that the firm gets ever increasing value from its data assets. This enables us to:

As an Assistant Data Quality Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the design, implementation, and operationalisation of the firm’s data quality framework. You will work closely with Data Quality Managers, Data Owners, Data Stewards, and technology teams to ensure data is accurate, complete, consistent, and fit for purpose, underpinning reporting, regulatory compliance, and AI-driven initiatives.

You will be instrumental in building and maintaining trust in our data, which is foundational to Deloitte’s ability to deliver high-quality services and insights to our clients and internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

  • Data Profiling and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive data profiling across diverse datasets to identify characteristics, anomalies, inconsistencies, and potential data quality issues that include those that could impact AI model performance
  • Application of AI technologies to Data Quality Management
  • Data Quality Rule Definition and Implementation: Work closely with business stakeholders and AI/ML teams to define, refine, and validate data quality rules, ensuring they align with business requirements and the specific needs of GenAI and Agentic AI models. Ensure adherence to Deloitte’s data governance policies and standards, contributing to a robust framework that supports ethical, responsible, and compliant AI development
  • Issue Identification and Resolution: Proactively identify, analyse, and document data quality issues, performing root cause analysis and collaborating with data owners and technical teams to implement effective remediation strategies
  • Data Cleansing and Transformation: Support data cleansing initiatives, correcting or excluding inaccurate, incomplete, or irrelevant data to maintain error‑free datasets
  • Data Quality Monitoring and Reporting: Develop and implement continuous data quality monitoring processes, establishing key metrics and creating dashboards to track data accuracy, integrity, and fitness for purpose. Maintain thorough documentation of data quality processes, rules, issues, and resolutions, particularly as they pertain to AI data pipelines
  • AI Data Readiness: Specifically focus on preparing data for GenAI and Agentic AI initiatives, ensuring data is structured, transformed, contextualised, and accessible. This includes detecting and mitigating biases in AI data, managing unstructured data for Large Language Models (LLMs), and ensuring data lineage is clear for explainable AI
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate cross‑functionally with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, AI Developers, and business users to embed data quality best practices throughout the data lifecycle and provide continuous feedback on data requirements for advanced AI

Essentials

  • Proven experience in data quality management, data governance, or a related data management discipline
  • Deep understanding of data quality dimensions (e.g., accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness, validity, uniqueness)
  • Proficiency with data profiling, data cleansing, and data standardisation techniques and tools (e.g., Informatica Data Quality, Talend Data Quality, Collibra, Ataccama, or similar)
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and propose practical solutions for complex data issues
  • Understanding of how data quality impacts AI model performance, reliability, and the mitigation of issues like ‘hallucinations
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and people skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a challenging environment

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in the professional services
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data quality capabilities
  • Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) and Metadata Management concepts
  • Experience with data quality tools specifically designed for unstructured data or text analytics
  • Relevant industry certifications e.g., DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Data Quality certifications)
