We are seeking a highly motivated, professional and experienced Sous Chef to join our established kitchen team at the Delmont Hotel and The View Restaurant. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate chef who thrives in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment and is looking to take the next step in their career within a busy hotel and restaurant operation catering to both private guests and large-scale coach dining.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen operation
- Supervise and support the kitchen brigade to ensure efficient service delivery
- Maintain consistently high standards of food preparation, presentation and service
- Assist with menu planning, development and implementation
- Ensure all food is prepared and served in line with company specifications
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation
- Help manage food GP, portion control and wastage
- Ensure full compliance with all Health & Safety and Food Hygiene regulations
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment at all times
- Assist with the preparation and service of:
- Breakfast service for hotel guests and coach groups
- Evening restaurant service
- Functions and large group bookings
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef within a busy commercial kitchen
- A recognised Food Hygiene / Health & Safety qualification
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- The ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Excellent communication and team management skills
- A genuine passion for fresh, high-quality food
- Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and peak seasonal periods
- Experience in high-volume service (hotel or events experience desirable)
