From applied research to advanced engineering, the Engineering Technologist team has the expertise to shape ground-breaking products, material and processes. It’s a fascinating field of work. We’re involved in assessing the competition, developing technology and product strategies and generating intellectual property. We lead technology investigations, analyze industry capabilities and recommend potential acquisitions or vendor partner opportunities. Our insights influence product architecture and definitions. Responsibilities

• Lead the development of end-to-end thermal solutions from server to data center, including air and liquid cooled servers, integrated rack solutions and deployment into the complete range of data center environments.
• Innovate power-saving solutions to increasingly dense IT deployments.
• Optimize cost, energy efficiency and performance of compute at server, rack and row scales.
• Work closely with key external partners to create differentiated solutions.
• Clearly communicate complex thermal system concepts to customers, colleagues and upper management.

Requirements

• Advanced working knowledge of key thermal technologies, including fans, heat sinks, cold plates, pumps, computer room air handlers and data center heat rejection equipment.
• Working knowledge of data center power distribution from server to data hall.
• Possess knowledge of and relationships with key suppliers of data center thermal management components.
• Able to take a concept to product.
• Willingness and ability to negotiate competing interests and priorities to achieve the best possible outcome for all stakeholders.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. Customer and partner project/program leadership experience.

Essential Requirements

• 15+ years of related experience in a professional role or equivalent experience.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder influence skills.
• Experience leading cross-functional investigations and presenting recommendations.
• Proficiency with statistics, modeling, and lab systems; adherence to safety/compliance.
• Ability to mentor others and elevate team practices.

Desirable Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering with emphasis on thermal science, fluid dynamics or heat transfer.
• 10 years of related experience (can be offset with an advanced degree).
• Must have the ability to understand competitive and business needs while developing technical solutions.
• Ability to travel.
• Ability to assess customer requirements & develop blueprint based on customer geographical area.
