We’re looking for a Global Head of Consumer Communications to join our London team for a 12-month maternity cover. In this role, you’ll set the direction, creative standard, and executional excellence of consumer communications across markets, spanning PR, digital platforms, influencer, and social (where campaign relevant).

You will define how Deliveroo shows up in culture, in earned media, and across digital platforms. You will directly manage a network of market Heads of Consumer Communications and comms managers, ensuring high-impact campaigns, consistent brand expression, and culturally relevant storytelling that resonates locally and scales internationally where appropriate.

This is a senior leadership role at the intersection of communications, marketing, partnerships, and business strategy, requiring a balance of creative instinct, strategic oversight, and campaign leadership.

What you'll be doing

You’ll be joining the International Communications team, reporting directly to the VP of International Communications. You will oversee a period of continued growth and category expansion, collaborating with DoorDash and Wolt teams to define our global consumer narrative.

Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:

  • Lead Global Strategy: Set the direction and creative standards for consumer communications across all markets, spanning PR, digital platforms, and influencer engagement.
  • Drive High-Impact Campaigns: Oversee culturally relevant launches and stunts, identifying key moments that drive conversation and earned media attention at scale.
  • Scale Excellence: Identify the best local ideas and scale them across regions, building playbooks and frameworks that improve consistency and efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Partner with senior leaders to translate product launches and new vertical expansions into compelling, consumer-facing stories.
  • Team Leadership: Directly manage and develop a network of market Heads of Consumer Comms, fostering a high-performance, ambitious, and creative culture.
  • Integrated Execution: Ensure campaigns are fully integrated across PR and owned social channels, working closely with Corporate Comms and Public Affairs on reputational alignment.

What you'll need to thrive

Essential:

  • Significant Leadership Experience: ~15 years in international consumer communications or brand storytelling, ideally leading teams across multiple regions.
  • Creative Campaign Delivery: A strong portfolio of delivering high-impact, creative campaigns that drive measurable visibility and brand perception.
  • Strategic Integration: Deep understanding of how PR, influencer marketing, and social media intersect to amplify brand messaging.
  • Senior Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to influence senior leaders and navigate fast-paced, matrixed, international environments.
  • People Development: Strong experience in setting direction and elevating the output of high-performing, diverse communications teams.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience within a high-growth tech or marketplace business.
  • Regional expertise working across European markets.
  • Proficiency in additional European languages.
