Join us in our mission to transform the way people shop and eat. Impact, innovation, and growth drive everything we do. Our Finance team plays a critical role in shaping the company’s future—allocating capital to the highest-impact opportunities, building robust financial strategies, and delivering sustainable value as we scale. This is a high-impact leadership role at the heart of our Merchant organisation. You will work directly with the Chief Revenue Officer and senior leaders to shape commercial strategy, influence key decisions, and lead the evolution of our Merchant economics—at a time of significant scale and integration with DoorDash.

What You’ll Be Doing

As the Director for Merchant F&S, you act as a trusted advisor to the Chief Revenue Officer and Merchant leadership—shaping pricing strategy, optimising merchant economics, and delivering data-driven insights to support complex, high-value negotiations. You operate at both a strategic and hands-on level, driving outcomes across a large and fast-evolving business.

  • Lead & scale the team: Manage and develop the Merchant F&S team, building a high-performing organisation through strong coaching, clear prioritisation, and active talent development.
  • Own commercial impact: Partner closely with commercial leaders on major contract negotiations, bringing deep expertise on P&L implications across standard and bespoke deal structures.
  • Build innovative strategy: Design, standardise, and scale pricing frameworks and negotiation tools across markets and segments to drive consistency and measurable impact.
  • Drive DoorDash integration: Lead the integration of Merchant financials into DoorDash’s metrics, systems, and governance—creating a step-change in consistency, visibility, and performance management, and enabling more effective decision-making at scale.
  • Embed AI in ways of working: Elevate the Merchant F&S team by embedding AI and automation into core workflows, enhancing analytical depth, improving efficiency, and redefining how financial insights are generated and used.
  • Drive financial rigour: Own planning, forecasting, and reporting for Merchant-driven P&L lines, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and actionable insight to support decision-making.
  • Deliver cross-functional impact: Partner across Finance, Product, Operations, and regional teams to land critical initiatives and influence company-wide outcomes.

What You’ll Need to Thrive

Our ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in some of these areas and the curiosity to grow in others:

  • Professional Qualification: ACA / ACCA or equivalent qualification is a plus.
  • Industry Expertise: Significant proven experience within a high-growth startup or a relevant fast-paced industry environment.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: A strong ability to use big data to solve complex problems and drive commercial decision-making.
  • Financial Modelling: Highly proficient in building robust, spreadsheet-based financial models to forecast and analyse business performance.
  • Senior Stakeholder Influence: Proven ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders, particularly non-finance leaders, at a strategic level.
