Health & Safety Manager

Location: UK (Hybrid from London HQ)

We’re hiring our first dedicated Health & Safety Manager at Deliveroo, a big step forward as we scale sustainably. This is your chance to build something from the ground up: setting the standards, designing the frameworks, and shaping a safety-first culture across all our UK sites. From our offices to our Editions kitchens to our Hop stores, you’ll help keep our people safe, ensure we’re legally compliant, and prepare us for future growth at Deliveroo.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Design and roll out Health & Safety policies, processes, and risk assessments tailored to our UK operations.

  • Put reporting, auditing, and monitoring systems in place that make safety second nature.

  • Make compliance the norm – not the checkbox.

  • Ensure we meet all UK H&S requirements including RIDDOR, fire safety, manual handling, and more.

  • Act as our go-to contact for external bodies like the HSE and local authorities.

  • Support teams on the ground.

  • Partner with our site managers across Office, Editions, and Hop to bring safety practices to life.

  • Lead on incident investigations and make sure learnings turn into long-term fixes.

  • Drive awareness and accountability.

  • Create training and guidance that’s practical and easy to follow.

  • Keep safety front of mind through communication, coaching, and clarity.

  • Bring governance and structure.

  • Work closely with our Health & Safety Committee and senior leaders to prioritise what matters most and track how we’re doing.

  • Look for ways to improve and standardise across regions as we grow.

What we’re looking for

  • Solid experience managing Health & Safety across different environments (corporate, warehouse, food production).

  • Deep understanding of UK H&S legislation and how to apply it practically.

  • NEBOSH or equivalent certification (essential).

  • A builder’s mindset- you’ve set up systems from scratch and know how to bring people with you.

  • Strong communication skills you can explain complex issues in a way that makes sense to everyone.

  • Happy to switch between strategy and hands-on work as needed.

We are still a small team, making a very large impact, looking to answer some of the most interesting questions out there. We move fast, value autonomy and ownership, and we are always looking for new ideas.\’

Benefits And Diversity

At Deliveroo we know that people are the heart of the business and we prioritise their welfare. We offer a wide range of competitive benefits in areas including health, family, finance, community, convenience, growth, time away and relocation.
