What You’ll Be DoingYou’ll be joining the Growth, Cost & Quality team within New Verticals. We are a project-based, entrepreneurial group responsible for the strategic roadmap that allows Deliveroo to win in the highly competitive on-demand grocery market. Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:
- Lead end-to-end strategic initiatives, from framing complex problems (like structural growth levers and ROI on new features) to ensuring successful operational delivery.
- Oversee complex quantitative analysis and financial modelling, translating data into high-stakes recommendations for the senior leadership team.
- Orchestrate cross-functional ‘pods’ across Product, Commercial, Marketing, and Engineering to operationalise new growth initiatives.
- Own the performance management framework, including annual planning, OKR-setting, and leading weekly/monthly business reviews to provide the "narrative" behind the numbers.
- Identify P&L opportunities, proactively surfacing cost-saving or revenue-driving levers to outpace the market.
Our ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in some of these areas and curiosity to grow in others:
- Significant Strategic Experience: Proven background in management consulting, corporate strategy, finance, or high-growth operations (typically 4-6+ years).
- Masterful Problem Solving: A track record of leading complex projects, assessing multi-layered risks, and implementing scalable solutions in ambiguous environments.
- Advanced Analytical Skills: Expert-level modelling skills with the ability to turn disparate data sets into actionable strategic roadmaps and P&L improvements.
- Stakeholder Influence: Exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to distil complexity for senior executives and lead in a matrixed organisation.
- Operational Drive: A focus on results, ensuring that strategic recommendations transition into measurable operational changes.

- Learn fast in an entrepreneurial environment. Work close to the market with autonomy, pace and real responsibility.
- Build a career, not just a role. Stretch yourself, develop new skills and grow as the business evolves.
