About the Team: The Global Business and Corporate Development (BCD) team is a small group of highly experienced deal professionals responsible for DoorDash’s most complex and consequential partnerships. Operating across DoorDash, Wolt, and Deliveroo, we architect first-of-kind commercial models from first principles where conventional playbooks are insufficient to move the needle. We work directly with global business owners to identify growth constraints, then design the bespoke deal mechanics and secure the cross-functional alignment required to convert ambiguous opportunities into performing programs with clear, incremental impact.

About the Role: As Deal Lead for Deliveroo, your mandate is to architect the first-of-kind partnerships required to solve Deliveroo’s most complex growth constraints. You will own the entire deal trajectory—from the initial commercial thesis through first-principles design, partner selection and negotiation, to launch and impact. While operating within the Global BCD organisation, you will act as the primary commercial counterpart to Deliveroo’s executive and functional leadership, navigating multi-market dynamics where conventional playbooks are insufficient. This is a mandate for a deal professional who exercises elite commercial judgment to decide where we invest and how we ensure those bets deliver measurable results.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Originate Commercial Theses: Partner with Deliveroo leadership to diagnose growth constraints and originate the commercial theses required to unlock them.
  • Build From First Principles: Structure first-of-kind commercial partnerships for situations where conventional playbooks are insufficient to move the needle.
  • Lead High-Stakes Negotiations: Act as the primary commercial lead in the room, driving momentum with senior counterparts at both global platforms and the most significant local players in any given market.
  • Secure Cross-Functional Commitment: Develop trusted relationships with senior leaders across Product, Finance, and Strategy & Operations to secure the resourcing and internal commitment required to make complex deals work with our unique constraints.
  • Neutralise Contractual Risk: Work in lockstep with legal to draft and refine agreements, applying deep experience to ensure the terms serve as a definitive, de-risked roadmap for execution.
  • Own the Trajectory to Impact: Maintain accountability for the partnership through the full arc of the deal—ensuring the precision of the agreement translates into measurable incremental results.
  • Inform Global Strategy: Harness market intelligence and competitive dynamics to inform the long-term partnership roadmap for Deliveroo across its global footprint.

We’re excited about you because…

  • You possess high-level pattern recognition: You bring 10+ years of experience closing complex, non-standard deals within high-scale digital platforms, consumer marketplaces or financial services firms.
  • You convert ambiguity into a thesis: You excel at translating growth constraints into clear commercial models and partnership strategies that executives and technical teams can rally behind.
  • You influence without authority: You navigate sophisticated, multi-faceted organisations to pull stakeholders together, aligning disparate internal views into a single, unified deal thesis.
  • You are a master of the definitive agreement: You are a seasoned negotiator comfortable driving the drafting process to ensure the contract acts as a de-risked roadmap for cross-functional execution.
  • You prioritise impact over activity: You focus on the few partnerships that move the needle, recognising that because mission-critical deals cannot fail, they require both rigorous negotiated structures and strong ongoing relationships to ensure success.
  • You have strong executive presence: You engage directly with C-suite counterparts at global platforms and significant local brands, driving results through the strength of the relationships you build.
