About The Role
We’re hiring an exceptional Cybersecurity Counsel to join our legal team at an exciting time for the business. This is a globally‑scoped role, with responsibility across all DoorDash brands and international markets, advising on cybersecurity, data security, cyber‑enabled fraud, and related regulatory and law‑enforcement matters worldwide. You will be a member of the Global Privacy Team and will partner closely with Cybersecurity and Integrity teams on matters involving cybersecurity, fraud, regulatory engagement and law‑enforcement interactions. You will also provide proactive legal advice on strategic initiatives and transactions, as well as support or lead incident response and crisis management. The preferred location for this role is Deliveroo’s London office, though candidates in other European locations where Deliveroo operates may also be considered.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide legal support to Global Security teams across all domains, including security engineering, security operations, governance, risk and compliance, and physical security and safety.
- Advise Integrity teams on cyber‑enabled fraud and identity‑related issues.
- Respond to and represent the DoorDash group in regulatory matters involving data security and privacy before regulatory authorities worldwide.
- Advise on and manage law‑enforcement interactions globally, including responding to legal process and referring suspected criminal activity.
- Provide business‑focused advice on cybersecurity and privacy aspects of product launches, strategic initiatives and transactions.
- Partner closely with cross‑functional teams across multiple regions and time zones; support, manage or lead incident response and crisis management efforts, working alongside 24/7 global response teams.
- Effectively manage and coordinate outside counsel as required.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified lawyer in the UK, an EU jurisdiction, or another common‑law jurisdiction, and eligible to practise law in your home jurisdiction.
- 5+ years post‑qualification experience, gained in a law firm, government authority or in‑house legal team (litigation experience is a plus).
- Experience advising on cybersecurity and data protection matters, including engagement with regulators, and ideally exposure to fraud, abuse or integrity‑related issues.
- Comfortable working autonomously in a fast‑paced, international environment, exercising sound judgment across multiple jurisdictions and time zones.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to explain complex legal and technical issues clearly to non‑lawyers.
- High organisational skill and ability to manage multiple complex matters and urgent issues simultaneously, often under time pressure.
- Flexibility and willingness to work outside standard hours when incidents, investigations or critical matters arise.
- Strong ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives in a practical, solutions‑focused way.
- Positive attitude, high EQ, and belief that no job is too big or too small.
