Find out more at www.structuredretailproducts.com ABOUT THE ROLE In this senior role, the journalist will take on more complex assignments, lead on major stories, mentor junior colleagues and demonstrate a higher level of journalistic expertise and in-depth knowledge of structured products, as well as managing their own workload with greater autonomy compared to a junior role: Tasks include: Providing first edits, first thing in the UK morning from our HK Correspondent. Potentially assisting with reporting or editing from insights contributors Taking the reins of regular reports particularly at the publication stage Producing higher-quality reporting, including in-depth data analysis Keeping track of weekly Spotlights to ensure the sequence KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Research and gather information on newsworthy events and issues relevant to our audience. Conduct interviews with sources and stakeholders to gather background and quotes for articles. Write clear, concise, and compelling news articles, ensuring adherence to journalistic standards and ethics. Assist in the development of multimedia content, including reports and webinars. Collaborate with junior reporters and editors to identify trending topics and develop story ideas. Attend press conferences, community events, and other relevant gatherings to cover breaking news and report live. Maintain a strong understanding of current events and issues affecting our industry and beyond. KEY INTERFACES Keep the director of content regularly informed of market news in the region they are covering and potential stories for commissioning, including via the weekly news meeting. Keep the data and editorial teams informed of new structured products and trends and inform analysts of potential contacts that would assist them in their market analysis. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Essential Some experience writing high quality content for a reputable news organisation. An understanding of how financial markets work or a willingness to learn more. Interest in business and finance is a must. An excellent eye for detail. The ability to create imaginative, accurate and compelling news and feature stories. The ability to explain technical concepts accurately and engagingly. Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable networking. Desirable Experience creating content for the web and social media platforms. A degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject. Experience of public speaking.
