As a member of the care team your role is to promote as much personal and physical independence and choice as possible in the activities of daily living undertaken by the service user within their home environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Personal Care of Service Users: Assist with washing, dressing, toileting, eating and drinking, personal grooming, taking medication, preparation of meals.
  • Health Care Needs: Assist the service user with catheter care/continence, stoma care, medication, pressure area care.
  • Therapeutic Care: Assist the service user with maintaining mobility, daily living / functional skills.
  • Domestic Help: Assist the service user with domestic duties such as washing, ironing, cleaning tasks.
  • Social Care: Assist with collecting pensions/prescriptions, talking and listening, reminiscing, helping to maintain links with family and friends, assisting with social and recreational activities, reading/writing.
