Working at Deliciously Ella
We have around 75 team members across two sites. Our factory site near Milton Keynes produces some of our best-loved products like our energy balls, caramel cups, nut butter bites and dipped nuts. Our Head Office is based in the heart of central London, on Tottenham Court Road, and this is where our Leadership Team work, alongside our Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing and People teams.
Purpose of the role
- Operate and monitor production machinery to ensure consistent, high-quality output.
- Conduct pre-start checks and ensure machines are correctly set up for each production run.
- Carry out routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic maintenance in line with hygiene and safety requirements.
- Identify and report mechanical faults, performance issues, or safety concerns to the appropriate teams promptly.
- Make necessary machine adjustments to maintain product specifications and quality standards.
- Accurately record production data, including downtime, rejects, and output levels.
- Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures at all times.
- Assist with product changeovers, trials, and continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency and performance.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Actively contribute ideas to improve production processes and reduce waste.
- Actively support the line to achieve its target yields at times when no machine attention is required.
Your team
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Machine Minder to join our night shift team at our food production facility. You will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining machinery to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient production. This includes carrying out routine checks, resolving minor issues, and maintaining high standards of product quality, hygiene, and safety.
What you will bring (skills and experience)
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing or fast-moving production environment.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine operation principles.
- Good attention to detail with a strong focus on product quality and safety.
- Awareness of food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
- Ability to create, maintain and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ability to carry out machinery risk assessments in line with safety standards.
- Experience in writing detailed cleaning instructions and procedures.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Proactive attitude with the ability to identify and report issues quickly.
- Flexible and reliable, with the ability to work effectively on a night shift or rotating shift pattern.
- Basic IT or data entry skills for recording production information.
- Willingness to learn and develop skills in machine operation and maintenance.
