The Role: At Delice, Finance plays a central role in driving commercial performance across the business. We operate with an entrepreneurial mindset and work closely with Sales, Operations and Marketing to support informed decision-making at every level.
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented analyst with strong commercial curiosity to join our Business Insights team at our Southall Head Office. This is an excellent opportunity to gain broad exposure to an FMCG food business and develop strong analytical and stakeholder-facing skills.
The role will support the end-to-end Customer Journey, helping to turn data into insight through core reporting, process improvement and data management. You will work closely with Sales and Finance teams, helping prioritise and support our customer base via:
- The production of internal and external reporting and commercial insight
- Continuous improvement of reporting, data quality and processes
- Cross-functional collaboration to support customer and business performance
You will play a key role in reporting and insight across the business, as well as supporting a variety of fast-paced projects and initiatives. Key areas of focus include:
- Reviewing customer purchase behaviour versus expectations, analysing trends and trading patterns
- Translating core reports into clear, actionable insight with defined next steps
- Developing new value-adding reports and producing ad-hoc analysis to support real-time business decisions
- Supporting customer profitability reviews and building commercial understanding using internal and external market data
- Working closely with the Sales team to share learnings and drive continuous improvement
- Supporting projects to improve processes, policies and reporting standards, including development and maintenance of reporting tools
- Maintaining high standards of accuracy, governance and policy compliance

Reporting & Key Relationships: Reporting into the Head of Business Insights, the Analyst will be a key support for the sales team and business, working on a variety of value-added business projects in addition to day-to-day operational requirements.
Main Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Reliable delivery of core business reporting, on time in full
- Support on trading pattern reviews, especially in relation to customer credit analyses and customer onboarding
- Aiding the department in providing balance in Delice's commercial activity, weighing up the best outcomes to create a balanced culture between customer-focus, cost control and cash is king.
- Seizing the opportunity to make proactive contributions to a wide range of business functions, promoting cross-functional working aimed at ensuring continuous development.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Delivering, developing, maintaining and continuously improving reporting to ensure it is timely, accurate and relevant
- Supporting and promoting best practice use of reporting tools, including Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint, helping to build analytical capability across the business
- Identifying opportunities to improve profitability, growth and cash performance in collaboration with the Business Insights team
- Assisting with financial modelling and analysis to support customer engagements, tenders and business cases, identifying opportunities to simplify, automate and improve efficiency
- Supporting the use of market and customer insights to inform pricing and tactical commercial decisions, working with Sales, Product & Marketing and Finance stakeholders
- Supporting the Sales team across all sectors and channels by delivering insightful commercial analysis on customers, products and sectors, including:
- Pricing accuracy and performance
- New product listing execution and post-launch analysis
- Customer profitability and return on investment
- Forecasting and trend analysis

Essential Experience and Qualifications/training:
- Graduate with a business/numerate Degree (or equivalent)
- Must enjoy a fast-paced, growing and evolving business environment, balancing a rhythm of reporting with unscheduled and high priority items
- Ideally a fast-paced, FMCG/Retail Entrepreneurial background
- Microsoft Excel experience, competence and aptitude
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong planning, organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced and adaptable environment
- Analytical, logical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and apply 'wait but why?' in the pursuit of actionable insight
- Clear communicator, able to convey analysis and insight in a simple, practical way
- Driven and curious self-starter, comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Technical Skills:
- Good working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office is essential
- Experience or familiarity with Power BI is desirable
- Exposure to ERP systems is advantageous (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred but not essential)
- Part qualified accountant is a plus, but not required
- SQL or broader data/IT skills are a plus, but not required
