The role of a Commercial Business Partner (commonly known as Business Insights Business Partner) includes working within a commercially driven finance team at Delice, which is at the heart of the business with an entrepreneurial spirit. We are looking for an exceptionally commercial candidate to join our Business Insights team in our Southall Head office. Business Insights is exceptionally entrepreneurial, and every day is not the same. It is an exciting time to join us and be a part of the team designed to drive the business forward through business partnering with the sales team and being an integral part of our Customers Journey.
You will be involved in a variety of fast-paced change projects and initiatives into our customer-centric independent business, such as relaunching our Customer Concepts and the Delice Brands. You should be excited by the opportunity to work at different levels within the business and driven to learn more about an FMCG Food business with strong business acumen. As a driven self-starter, you will lead continuous improvement across our Customer Journeys, striving for efficiencies and excellence while maintaining the highest standards of performance and promoting our Food Safety Culture. You will be an extended part of our Sales team and part of the Delice Family delivering the Delice core values.
Reporting & Key Relationships:
- Reporting to the Head of Business Insights, the Business Insights Business Partner will be a key business partner to the sales team who look after the Retail, Out of Home, Catering, Wholesales, Distribution & Multiples channels.
- Other Key Contacts: Customers, Sales, Marketing, Hardware, the rest of the Finance team.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Proactively contributing to and promoting cross-functional working to ensure a continuous development of a balanced customer, cost, and cash focused culture.
- Strategically and tactically support the Sales team across all sectors on areas such as accurate pricing, maximising Return on Investment, accurate forecasting, Finance support in tenders, contract review, trade terms management, and customer joint business plan meetings.
- Drive profitability, growth and cash improvement with a customer and product lens by working with the Head of Business Insights and Head of Finance to identify key trends and actions with these channels.
- Lead meetings between finance and sales teams to ensure efficiency and communication.
- Support the Strategic Sector Pricing Strategy for Delice working closely with the Channel Team, Sales Director, and Marketing.
- Work with the Head of Business Insights on Commercial Sales month-end Commentary, providing clear understanding of business sales performance and outlook.
- Collaborate with the Head of Business Insights, Marketing, and the Sales Director to understand how market insights can be used with pricing tactical strategies to gain market share.
- Review new financing and business model opportunities to increase market penetration opportunities for Delice de France.
- Continuously develop and create relevant insight-driven commercial reporting that is timely and accurate.
- Provide Excel & PowerPoint training and knowledge promoting continuous improvement throughout Delice.
- Other ad-hoc work as required.

Essential Experience and Qualifications:
- Must enjoy a fast-paced, changing commercial environment, where every day is not prescheduled.
- Graduate with business/numerate Degree (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 1 year Financial Reporting/Commercial Finance experience with a commercial value-added mindset.
- ACCA/ACA/CIMA part qualified.
- Ideally FMCG/Retail/fast-paced Entrepreneurial background.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Analytical with excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional planning and multitasking skills to manage varied day-to-day needs and deadlines.
- A proactive self-starter, with independent clear thinking and the ability to work on their own as well as in a team flexibly.
- Familiarity with integrated ERP System, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power BI.
- Good working knowledge of Excel is critical along with MS Office.
