About The Role
StrikeWeb is the command and control application for orchestrating a fleet of autonomous robotic agents deployed in real-world environments. As a Software Engineer on the IoT DevOps team, you will be instrumental in ensuring these systems are reliable, observable, and continuously deployable at scale. Youβll work at the intersection of software development, infrastructure automation, and real-time operational resilience.
In this role you will get to
- Design, implement, and maintain DevOps infrastructure for managing autonomous robotics fleets in production environments.
- Build CI/CD pipelines that enable rapid and safe deployment of code to thousands of edge devices across multiple geographies.
- Develop monitoring and alerting systems for real-time diagnostics of StrikeWeb and robotic agents in the field.
- Collaborate closely with robotics, software, and infrastructure teams to align system-level requirements with field deployment practices.
- Automate firmware and container rollouts, rollback mechanisms, and device health reporting pipelines.
- Own and improve deployment systems for both cloud-based and edge-based components of the StrikeWeb application.
- Conduct root-cause analyses on deployment or runtime incidents and proactively improve system reliability.
Must have experience
- 3+ years of experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Infrastructure Engineering role, preferably with distributed or IoT systems.
- Strong proficiency with container technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, Nomad).
- Proven experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins) and Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Solid skills in a systems programming language such as Python, Go, or Rust.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) and cloud-native networking and security practices.
- Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or OpenTelemetry) for debugging and telemetry.
Nice to have
- Experience managing over-the-air updates (OTA) for remote IoT or embedded devices.
- Exposure to robotics systems or real-time control loops.
- Background in secure software supply chains and device authentication at scale.
- Knowledge of protocols and systems relevant to edge computing (e.g., MQTT, gRPC, ZeroMQ).
- Familiarity with fleet orchestration challenges in constrained or high-latency environments.
- Contributions to open-source projects in the DevOps or IoT space.
