What the role involves:
- Working alongside our experienced team to carry out planned maintenance, repairs, and rigging on our extensive fleet of hydraulic crawler cranes.
- Hands-on work both in our workshop and at various locations across the UK and Ireland.
What we’re looking for:
- A proactive, can-do attitude and eagerness to learn.
- Willingness to work outdoors and travel as required by the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive comprehensive on-the-job training to achieve NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 in Plant Maintenance. Additional accredited training will include CPCS Appointed Person, CPCS Lift Supervisor, CPCS Slinger Signaller, CPCS Crawler Crane Operator, IPAF, CETOP Hydraulics, LEEA courses, and manufacturer-specific training.
- Work on a modern fleet of crawler cranes, gaining hands-on experience in rigging, servicing, and repairs.
- Perform preventative maintenance and servicing to ensure optimal crane performance.
- Maintain accurate daily records using PDA systems for inspections, servicing, and repairs.
- Assist with and learn fault diagnosis techniques to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Adhere to high standards of health and safety at all times.
- Be flexible to work away from home and outside normal hours, including weekends when required, to assist with breakdowns—flexibility is essential.
- Carry out servicing and maintenance on other mechanical plant equipment in the workshop and yard as needed.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team to meet operational requirements.
- Undertake additional duties as reasonably requested by management.
Skills:
- Technically minded, with the ability to learn and perform fault diagnosis and repairs on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems used in crawler cranes.
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
- Eager to learn new skills, demonstrating attention to detail and ensuring all inspections are completed to the highest standards.
- Full UK driving licence required.
