We are looking for either a mid-level, or senior, Full Stack PHP Web Developer, to join a retail organisation which has several new projects lined-up to enhance further growth of the business.
This role will sit as part of a team of 3 Software Developers and will have the opportunity to make a significant impact across the business by working as an end-to-end product developer, from working with stakeholders to gather requirements to the implementation of code.
We're really looking for someone that wants to build relationships, understand the complex business systems (in this case, an in-house built ERP using PHP/Laravel), and build new features.
Key areas of the role include:
- Ensure the maintenance and growth of the businesses in-house built systems, which currently help the business generate circa £40m in revenue.
- Implementation of design changes and new features as needed.
- Build solutions across the full stack, from PHP/Laravel (PHP 8+) on the back end to a VUE front end.
- Identify problem areas within the current systems and present ways of solving these challenges.
- Working as a true end-to-end product developer, from building business knowledge and gathering requirements to the implementation of code.
Key skills/experience required:
- Strong track record with PHP (ideally the latest versions) working across a full stack position.
- Ability to demonstrate domain knowledge with whatever industry you have come from.
Beneficial skills:
- PHP 8+ and Laravel (but we would look at another framework).
- Front end experience; the business uses Vue but would consider React or similar.
- Knowledge of MySQL or similar.
Role is based in Stoke-on-Trent, and once someone has spent some time understanding the business and systems, this role can subsequently work remotely 3 days per week. Free parking and ease of access based near Stoke City Football Club.
