The role will play a crucial part in developing a well-loved large scale eCommerce platform as well as a number of other single page applications, that generate £billions in revenue globally. You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary, high performing engineering team that have an ever-changing technical landscape.

What we are looking for:

  • Demonstrable experience with Ruby on Rails, ideally up to v5+.
  • A real team player, with opportunities for career advancement in a technology team of almost 400 members.
  • Passionate about pushing boundaries and new ways of working, including cloud, DevOps, and Agile delivery methods (Mainly Scrum and Kanban) with Automated testing at scale.

The ideal experience would include:

  • Solid understanding of database design, software methodologies and patterns.
  • Good knowledge of Ruby on Rails.
  • Previous experience of introducing technical change and improving coding practices.
  • Experience of working within an Agile Team using Scrum / Kanban.
  • Good understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
  • Proven experience reviewing code and providing constructive feedback.

This role is fully remote and can be performed anywhere in the UK, likely to suit experienced Back-end web developers with commercial experience in Ruby on Rails development.
