Opportunity – The role will play a crucial part in developing a well-loved large scale eCommerce platform as well as a number of other single page applications, that generate £billions in revenue globally. You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary, high performing engineering team that have an ever-changing technical landscape.

What we are looking for – Ideally someone that has demonstrable experience with Ruby on Rails, we have no preference on versions, but working up to v5+ would be advantageous. A real team player, the technology team has now grown to almost 400 superstars so there will be lots of progression for people that are interested in career advancement. Someone that’s passionate about pushing boundaries and new ways of working, besides cloud our team are also working in DevOps and Agile delivery methods (Mainly Scrum and Kanban) with Automated testing at scale.

The ideal experience would include –

  • Solid understanding of database design, software methodologies and patterns.
  • Good knowledge of Ruby on Rails.
  • Previous experience of introducing technical change and improving coding practices.
  • Experience of working within an Agile Team using Scrum / Kanban.
  • Good understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
  • Proven experience reviewing code and providing constructive feedback.

This role is fully remote and can be performed anywhere in the UK, likely to suit experienced Back-end web developers that have commercial experience in Ruby on Rails development.
