ERP Project Manager | Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

If you’re an experienced ERP Project Manager who knows that a successful implementation is about far more than getting software live, this could be an excellent next move.
We’re looking for an accomplished ERP Project Manager with strong Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience, ideally Business Central, to lead complex ERP implementations, integrations and wider business transformation initiatives.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of delivery from initial discovery and solution design through to data migration, testing, go-live and post-implementation support. You’ll bring business stakeholders, technical teams, solution architects and implementation partners together to ensure the technology delivers meaningful operational and commercial outcomes.
What will you be doing?
You’ll take responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of ERP implementation and transformation projects, managing scope, budgets, timelines, resources, risks and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include:
- End-to-end project delivery: Leading projects through discovery, design, build, data migration, integrations, testing, deployment, hypercare and transition into business-as-usual operations.
- Project planning and governance: Owning integrated project plans, milestones, budgets, resource allocation, RAID logs, dependencies, change control and senior-level reporting.
- Stakeholder management: Working closely with project sponsors, senior business leaders, end users, implementation partners and third-party suppliers to maintain alignment and drive decisions.
- Cross-functional leadership: Coordinating ERP and CRM consultants, solution architects, developers, business analysts, data and integration specialists, testers, change teams and operational support.
- Risk and change management: Identifying delivery risks early, managing scope changes and developing mitigation and recovery plans to keep projects on track.
- Testing and go-live readiness: Overseeing system integration testing, UAT, data reconciliation, training, cutover planning and the transition into live operations.
- Business transformation: Ensuring that organisational readiness, user adoption and business objectives remain central to the implementation, rather than simply delivering a technical solution.
The technology
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is the primary platform, so experience delivering Business Central implementations will be particularly valuable.
You’ll ideally understand how ERP solutions support core business functions, including:
- Finance and financial controls
- Procurement and purchasing
- Supply chain, inventory and warehousing
- Projects, jobs and service operations
- Data migration, reporting and business-critical integrations
Experience across the wider Microsoft ecosystem will also be beneficial, including Dynamics NAV, Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, Supply Chain Management, Dynamics 365 Sales, Customer Service, Field Service and the Power Platform.
You don’t need to be the person configuring every module or writing the code. However, you do need enough technical understanding to challenge assumptions, manage dependencies, coordinate specialist teams and make informed delivery decisions.
What are we looking for?
You’ll bring:
- At least five years of project management experience, including substantial responsibility for ERP implementation delivery.
- A proven track record of leading end-to-end ERP projects, ideally involving Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Experience managing complex, cross-functional programmes of work involving multiple stakeholders, workstreams and external implementation partners.
- A strong understanding of ERP implementation lifecycles, including integrations, data migration, testing, cutover and operational handover.
- Confidence managing budgets, schedules, risks, issues, dependencies and senior stakeholder expectations.
- Experience working with Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to bring people together and maintain accountability when delivery gets complicated.
Experience with Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project, Jira or similar project management tools would also be useful.
PMP, PRINCE2, AgilePM, Scrum or relevant Microsoft Dynamics certifications are advantageous, although proven delivery experience is what matters most.
Important: This is an ERP Project Management role. Experience delivering substantial ERP implementations is essential; CRM-only project delivery will not be sufficient.
