We’re working with one of the UK’s most integral CNI organisations to appoint a Director of Technology Resilience & Recovery to own and deliver enterprise-wide recovery and resilience capability.
If there’s a major cyber attack, system failure, or global/national disruption, this is the role responsible for making sure the organisation (and UK) keeps operating.
Reporting to the exec-level CIO, this role will have the support, seniority and funding to implement best in class resilience and recovery strategies. We are seeking a specialist Recovery and Resilience leader who has executed this in other large, complex organisations. This one isn't right for someone to step up into and learn on the job; we need a proven expert who can make an immediate impact.
The focus:
- End-to-end technology recovery and resilience across a landscape of 100+ locations and UK wide critical infrastructure.
- Ensuring critical services and operations are restored in a controlled, prioritised way.
- Building and governing recovery frameworks, playbooks, and sequencing.
- Leading live recovery during major incidents.
- Driving readiness through testing, simulations, and continuous improvement.
This is a high-impact, highly visible role with regular engagement at exec, board, and regulator level.
We’re looking for:
- A Head of / Director level technology Resilience and Recovery leader, who has designed and executed robust strategies for large, complex, critical organisations.
- Strong understanding of cyber recovery, backup integrity, and complex dependencies.
- Experience operating in regulated, high-stakes environments would be beneficial.
- Someone who can bring structure and control in high-pressure scenarios.
- A credible stakeholder operator across tech, business, and external partners.
You can be based anywhere in the UK, with travel to the Midlands and London. We would like to make a permanent appointment here, with a strong, market leading package that can flex to attract the best person. We are also open to bringing in an interim, if that would suit better.
If you’re motivated by real-world impact, resilience at scale, and owning one of the most critical capabilities in a national organisation, this is for you.
