I'm supporting a large, complex professional services group on the appointment of an Interim Security Director to lead and mature their security function during a critical period of growth and transformation. This is an interim leadership role with full accountability for security strategy, operations, GRC and stakeholder engagement.
The role involves taking ownership of the end-to-end security landscape — technical, procedural and cultural — ensuring the organisation's risk posture continues to strengthen while enabling business growth.
Key focus areas:
- Leading and stabilising the security function, setting clear direction and priorities
- Partnering with senior stakeholders to embed security into business and technology initiatives
- Overseeing day-to-day security operations, incident response and business continuity
- Driving security governance, compliance and assurance (ISO 27001 in particular)
- Strengthening third-party and supplier security assurance
- Providing clear, actionable reporting on risk, maturity and progress to leadership
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience operating at Security Director / Head of Security / CISO level in complex environments (this company has 10k employees, c. £1bn turnover)
- Strong background across security strategy, governance, risk, compliance and operational delivery
- Comfortable influencing at exec level while remaining pragmatic and delivery-focused
- Track record of leading audits, assurance programmes and incident response frameworks
Fully remote (UK-based) senior-level interim assignment with genuine scope and impact. Immediate requirement.
