We are seeking an experienced Solutions Architecture Manager to lead and evolve a Solution Architecture capability within a business undergoing significant transformation, line management of a team of circa 10 experienced Solution Architects. This role is ideal for someone who has successfully moved organisations away from traditional, centralised architecture models towards more modern approaches such as domain-led, product-based, or agile-aligned architecture.
You will play a critical role in embedding architects within product and domain teams, enabling faster decision-making, and ensuring architecture becomes an enabler of delivery rather than a bottleneck. You will set the direction for Solution Architecture, establishing clear standards, effective governance, and consistent ways of working that align closely to business and technology strategy.
Alongside this, you will lead and develop a high-performing team of Solution Architects, creating an environment where they can operate with autonomy while remaining aligned to enterprise goals. A key part of this role is balancing strategic leadership with hands-on involvement. You will stay close to delivery, particularly on complex or high-impact initiatives, ensuring solutions are pragmatic, scalable, secure, and designed with a holistic view across systems, data, integration, and platforms.
As a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, you will influence how technology supports the organisation’s evolution, helping to shape a more product-centric, outcome-driven approach to architecture.
What you will bring:
- Strong experience in senior Solution Architecture roles, including leadership, mentoring, or matrix management
- Demonstrable experience transforming architecture ways of working towards domain-led, product-based, or agile models
- Proven ability to design end-to-end solutions across multiple technology domains
- Deep understanding of architecture governance, design assurance, and risk management
- Ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders across business and technology
- Experience improving architecture practices to increase consistency, speed, and delivery outcomes
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas
Desirable experience:
- TOGAF or equivalent architecture frameworks
- Agile architecture approaches such as SAFe
- ITIL, Prince2, or similar delivery frameworks
- Experience in regulated environments
This is an opportunity to shape how architecture operates in a modern, product-led organisation while building a capability that drives real business value.
