We’re looking for a senior, hands-on Cloud Platform Engineer to help build and run cloud platforms that support a range of AI-led products and services. This role focuses on creating clear, reusable platform patterns so teams can deliver quickly without compromising on reliability, security, or cost. You’ll be working across several initiatives, helping bring consistency and structure to how services are designed, deployed, and operated.

It suits someone who enjoys making practical architectural decisions, setting standards, and staying close to the technology.

What you’ll be doing

  • You’ll design and build cloud-native solutions on AWS, with an emphasis on simplicity and reuse. A big part of the role is creating shared components, templates, and tooling that other teams can rely on.
  • You’ll work heavily with Terraform, building modular infrastructure and improving how environments are provisioned and managed. Alongside this, you’ll define and improve CI/CD approaches for both infrastructure and application deployment.
  • On the operational side, you’ll help embed good practices around monitoring, logging, and alerting. The aim is to make services easier to run, easier to understand, and more reliable over time. You’ll also be involved in running and improving API gateway and data plane technologies.

What we’re looking for

  • You should have solid experience running AWS platforms in production and be comfortable owning infrastructure end to end.
  • Strong Terraform experience is important, especially building reusable modules and integrating with CI/CD pipelines.
  • You’ll have worked with container platforms such as ECS or EKS, and have experience with API gateways. A good understanding of networking, service-to-service communication, and real-world troubleshooting is expected.
  • This role also involves supporting multiple teams, so being able to balance different needs while maintaining standards is key.
  • AI and data platform experience: We’re looking for someone who has worked with AI or ML workloads in a production setting. This could include model inference services, batch or streaming pipelines, or integrations with managed AI services. You should have a good sense of how these workloads scale, and what drives cost, especially where compute is involved.

What’s on offer

  • A competitive salary depending on experience, along with pension and private healthcare.
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to buy or sell leave.
  • Flexible working arrangements and support for ongoing development and training.
  • You’ll be joining a team that takes engineering seriously and values people who want to do good work without unnecessary noise.
