Location: UK – there will be occasional travel to their Midlands HQ, but flexible.
Newly created AI leadership role that enjoys leveraging Automation, AI and Process Automation to solve real business challenges. This isn’t a deeply technical role; it will lead a small and growing team. The core focus will be partnering with key business stakeholders to exploit opportunity, which could be measured in process efficiency, cost savings or speed to market through AI, Automation or Process Automation.
This is a high impact leadership role with the opportunity to shape how artificial intelligence is embedded across a large, complex UK operation. Multi-billion £ global industry leader.
This position goes beyond strategy. It is about delivering real, measurable outcomes. From optimisation and predictive maintenance to computer vision, logistics, forecasting, and sustainability, you will lead the adoption of AI and automation at scale. This role will also have a clear runway for future growth.
- Shape and deliver AI strategy: Identify and prioritise high value AI use cases across operations and business functions. Lead end to end delivery from concept through to production and business as usual. Define success metrics and ensure every initiative delivers measurable ROI.
- Build enterprise capability: Develop and implement frameworks across LLMOps, model evaluation, monitoring, and integration. Establish AI architecture, standards, and assurance processes, including model risk management and drift detection. Unlock value from operational technology, IoT, and enterprise data.
- Lead governance and responsible AI: Own the AI readiness roadmap across data governance, security, and knowledge architecture. Implement robust governance aligned to recognised standards including NIST, SOx, and ISO/IEC 42001. Ensure AI systems are safe, transparent, and explainable.
- Drive adoption and scale: Build and lead multidisciplinary teams and strategic partners. Deliver training, change, and enablement programmes to embed AI across the organisation. Oversee RPA strategy and ensure alignment with broader AI initiatives.
- Collaborate across the business and beyond: Work closely with international teams, suppliers, and innovation partners. Partner across IT, cyber, data, and business functions to deliver integrated, secure solutions.
What we are looking for:
- Operating at a minimum of Manager, ideally Senior Manager / Head of – with ownership for leveraging AI / Automation solutions at scale.
- A business partner – someone who can work with non-technical executive teams to create AI use-cases and take this through to deployment.
- Natural leader – someone that is interested in leading a growing function.
- Desirable experience includes RPA, industrial or manufacturing environments, predictive maintenance, computer vision, and familiarity with emerging areas such as RAG and agentic AI.
