Freight Forwarder and Customs Co-ordinator - CFSP Southampton £30,000.00 – £40,000.00 per annum Do you have hands-on customs clearance experience, ideally including CFSP and customs bond Are you organised, accurate and confident managing customer queries, declarations and deadlines, while helping develop new freight business We are looking for an experienced Freight Forwarder & Customs Coordinator (CFSP) to join our team at DIL’s Southampton site. You will look after established customs and bonded warehouse customers while helping develop our freight forwarding business. You will take ownership of daily processing, customer queries and administration, with management oversight and support for exceptions. Your key responsibilities will be to: Manage bond entries, removals, stock records and reconciliations, keeping customs and warehouse information aligned Prepare and monitor import/export declarations, CFSP supplementary declarations and relevant T1 movements, tracking deadlines and resolving discrepancies within your competence Own routine customer follow-up, document chasing and clearance updates; maintain accurate records, follow agreed release controls and escalate exceptions promptly Coordinate shipments, bookings, documentation and invoicing, keeping customers informed from enquiry to delivery Obtain supplier rates, prepare and follow up quotations, understand job margins and turn enquiries into bookings Build customer relationships, ask about upcoming shipments and identify additional freight opportunities with the commercial team The ideal candidate will have: Practical experience in customs clearance and/or bonded warehouse administration Strong accuracy, organisation and confidence using Excel CFSP and customs bond experience (strongly preferred) Experience of Descartes e-Customs (particularly useful); equivalent customs systems experience is welcome Modaltrans knowledge (beneficial) Commercial initiative, clear customer communication and a willingness to develop You do not need an existing customer portfolio or experience of every system to apply. Relevant customs or forwarding experience with transferable skills is also welcome.
