Reporting to the Shift Manager your main duties will be to

  • Manage and motivate a team of employees to ensure all company policies and procedures are adhered to.

Deal with day-to-day HR issues with support from your line manager and the HR team.

  • Ensure all Critical Control Points (CCP’s) are manned appropriately by trained personnel and that CCP’s are checked and monitored to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure all staff are briefed regularly, paperwork is checked, and approved in line with Company policies and procedures/legal requirements to ensure Non Conformances are not raised.
  • Ensure products are prepared to the correct quality specification and produced in line with agreed planning timeframes.
  • Ensure all GMP and environmental requirements are met, and actions are taken to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of the factory in line with the requirements of a food manufacturer.
  • Ensure the production schedule is accurately updated at the necessary times to provide a true reflection of the shift’s performance against plan.
  • Carry out continuous improvement projects in your area of responsibility.
  • Communicate accurate and timely information to all relevant parties.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a food manufacturing environment, be focused on continuous improvement and have a good understanding of food legislation, HACCP, KPIs and quality systems.

Being highly flexible and reliable the right candidate will also have a pro-active approach to carrying out work activities.

You must be able to follow written and verbal instructions, have excellent communication skills and be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

With a good general education, you will also have working knowledge of Microsoft software packages and have a methodical and organised approach to work, both individually and as part of a team.

You must also be able to effectively manage and coach a team and be an effective people manager with proven experience in a similar role.
