The Procurement Manager leads the company’s procurement strategies and supplier network management to ensure continuity of supply, cost competitiveness, and compliance for the canned foods portfolio across APAC. He/She manages end-to-end sourcing and operational procurement activities to meet product demand and service requirements. In addition, this role supports NPD commercialisation by enabling OEM/contract manufacturing execution—covering supplier feasibility, costing, trials coordination, compliance readiness, and launch supply assurance. Product strategy and concept direction are provided by Commercial/Marketing/Management.
Responsibilities
- Develop procurement plan
- Develop procurement implementation plans to ensure alignment with overall organisational strategy, APAC demand requirement and margin targets.
- Drive relationship building with organisational network and external vendors for optimal procurement outcomes (cost, quality, service, risk).
- Develop category-level procurement KPIs, including savings/value delivery, contract coverage, OTIF/service, quality incidents, and risk mitigation activities.
- Manage vendors
- Develop selection processes and criteria for prospective vendors.
- Evaluate vendor performance and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
- Review accuracy of information gathered on potential vendors that fulfill procurement requirements.
- Analyse list of vendors based on prices, specifications and delivery dates.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate favourable terms and conditions with vendors.
- Manage procurement activities
- Test quality of products to ensure suitability for purpose in accordance with procurement requirements and quality assurance standards.
- Evaluate vendors’ performance based on quality of products received and drive improvement actions with vendors.
- Review audit conducted on trade documentations and contract terms of trade transactions to reduce procurement risk.
- Monitor market trends and vendor capabilities to identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Streamline procurement processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Enable NPD Commercialisation (OEM Execution)
- Support NPD commercialisation through OEM feasibility, costing inputs and trial coordination.
- Work with QA/Supply Chain to ensure supplier readiness and documentation for launch.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management/Procurement.
- More than 10 years of procurement management experience in FMCG/Brand Owner.
- Track record in vendor negotiations, cost/value delivery and vendor performance management.
- Experience supporting NPD commercialisation with OEM/contract manufacturers (e.g., feasibility, costing, trials coordination, scale-up readiness).
- Capable of handling multiple local and regional projects simultaneously and executing them to completion.
- An independent worker and effective team player.
