The Assistant Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth and profitability for the Hong Kong and Macau distributor account through strong execution of the agreed account direction. Reporting to the Sales Manager, he/she focuses on day‑to‑day account management, relationship building and commercial negotiations within approved guidelines and works closely with the distributor to expand coverage across retail and foodservice channels.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver sales targets
  • Support quarterly and annual account strategies to achieve revenue, volume, and margin targets for Hong Kong and Macau under the direction of the Sales Manager.
  • Track sales performance by channel and SKU.
  • Consolidate insights and propose corrective actions to the Sales Manager and distributors with clear timelines.
  • Monitor competitor activities, pricing and in‑market executive, and provide regular market updates to support decision‑making and account actions.
  • Collect and consolidate distributor/customer feedback on product performance, pack formats and promotion outcomes.
  • Share recommendations with the Sales Manager to support in‑market priorities and target delivery.
  • Support ad‑hoc analysis requested by the Sales Manager (e.g., SKU performance, promo effectiveness, distributor/channel opportunities) to inform account execution.

Manage distributor relationship

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with distributor’s key decision makers and sales teams.
  • Negotiate listings, promotions and trade initiatives with distributor and downstream customers (retailers/restaurants) within the approved trade terms and authority limits.
  • Support issue resolution on payment and non‑routine commercial matters with Finance and the distributor.

Grow in‑market distribution and channel coverage via distributor

  • Work with distributor to improve channel coverage (modern trade, general trade, foodservice, e‑commerce where applicable) and drive numeric/weighted distribution for priority SKUs.
  • Conduct joint customer calls with the distributor to key retailers and foodservice accounts to secure new listings and improve shelf/menu presence.
  • Support distributor activation in‑store (visibility, merchandising standards, sampling where relevant) to improve sell‑out and reorder rates.

Manage account administration

  • Coordinate pricing and promotion documentation, claims and rebate processes to ensure compliance with internal governance and approval workflows.
  • Maintain accurate account records, agreements and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare account performance reports for reviews (sales, trade spend, claims, outstanding AR items) and follow up action items.

Coordinate supply, forecasting and inventory level

  • Provide rolling forecasts and market updates to support supply planning.
  • Monitor distributor inventory health (days of stock, ageing/expiry risk) and coordinate corrective actions with Supply Chain and the distributor.
  • Track service performance and drive follow‑up with internal teams and the distributor.

Execute digital marketing & social media activities

  • Support Hong Kong digital marketing execution aligned to brand priorities and distributor/channel needs (e.g., seasonal pushes, new listings, campaign periods).
  • Manage basic social content planning and coordination (monthly content calendar, asset requests, translations/localisation coordination, posting schedule with internal team/agency/distributor where applicable).
  • Coordinate creative and asset development (product visuals, key messages, short‑form content) ensuring compliance with brand guidelines and any regulatory/claim requirements.
  • Monitor basic performance metrics (reach, engagement, traffic leads where available) and produce monthly summaries with learnings and recommendations.
  • Support community management workflow (routing queries to the right team, response templates, escalation for complaints/quality issues).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing/Commerce/Supply Chain or related discipline.
  • 5‑8 years of FMCG B2B sales experience, with at least 3+ years managing or supporting distributor or key accounts (Hong Kong /North Asia experience preferred).
  • Strong relationship management and commercial negotiation skills; able to negotiate with distributors and downstream customers within defined authority limit.
  • Good analytical skills (pricing, promotion performance, basic P&L knowledge).
  • An independent worker and effective team player.
  • Willingness to travel.
