Overview
This role is based in Market Harborough. Deichmann Shoes is the UK subsidiary of the largest footwear retailer in Europe. We are recruiting a full-time Buying Assistant to join our busy Head Office team. This is a full-time, permanent position and you will be required to work from the office 5 days per week. The role is varied and would suit an individual who is keen, flexible and motivated to work in a Head Office retail setting. While previous buying experience is not essential, applicants must demonstrate strong attention to detail, be highly organised and able to prioritise their workload to meet deadlines. Ideally you will be able to drive and be willing to travel sometimes for work purposes.
Key activities
- Administer the sample confirmation process for the respective product area β Ladies footwear
- Raise and review product orders
- Maintain the range room, ensuring it is up to date, well organized and correct samples are on display
- Responsible for monitoring confirmation samples and follow-up when not received
- Monitor arrival of deliveries, operating a reminder and follow up system
- General administration associated with the buying function
- Liaising with suppliers along with the Buyer on products
- Supervising respective product area in the Buyers absence
- Maintaining details of the e-shop styles up to date on the computer system and organizing styles for e-shop photography
Personal characteristics
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent and/or have worked at this level
- Effective organisational skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining attention to detail
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Word Package (Excel and PowerPoint)
- Ability to work effectively on own and as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills necessary to develop key working relationships
- Ability to manage conflicting issues & demands
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to take a flexible approach to resolving work-related issues
- Demonstrate previous experience and/or knowledge of current fashion trends & activities in design, fashion & culture
