Purpose : Deichmann UK is looking to recruit an experienced Team Leader to join our Distribution Centre team in Corby.
The Team Leader will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activity within their assigned operational area, ensuring that work is completed safely, accurately and efficiently while achieving agreed productivity, quality and service targets.
You will lead and support Warehouse Operatives, organise daily workload and resources, monitor performance throughout the shift and deal with operational issues as they arise.
The role requires someone who is confident leading people, comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment and able to take ownership of their area while working closely with the wider Distribution Centre management team.

- Ideal candidate
- Previous warehouse Team Leader, supervisory or similar leadership experience.
- Good practical knowledge of warehouse and distribution-centre operations.
- Strong people-management and communication skills.
- The ability to organise and prioritise workload in a fast-moving environment.
- A practical problem-solving approach and the confidence to make day-to-day operational decisions.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Good Microsoft Office skills, including Excel at intermediate level or above.
- A good understanding of Warehouse Management Systems.
- Good knowledge of warehouse Health & Safety and security requirements.
- Experience of stock control, stocktakes or inventory processes.
- A positive, proactive and results-focused approach.
- The ability to coach, develop and motivate colleagues.
- Key activities
- Coordinate and prioritise daily warehouse activity within the assigned operational area.
- Allocate work and resources to meet daily operational requirements and targets.
- Monitor productivity, accuracy, quality and service throughout the shift.
- Identify and resolve day-to-day operational issues and elevate significant concerns when required.
- Lead, motivate and support Warehouse Operatives within the area.
- Communicate daily priorities, targets, changes and expected standards clearly to the team.
- Support attendance management, return-to-work meetings, performance matters, investigations and other people-management processes.
- Train, coach and support new and existing employees.
- Ensure warehouse procedures and Warehouse Management System processes are followed correctly.
- Maintain high standards of stock handling, inventory accuracy and warehouse housekeeping.
- Support stocktakes, cycle counts and investigation of stock discrepancies.
- Promote a strong Health & Safety culture and ensure safe systems of work are followed.
- Ensure warehouse equipment is used safely and defects are reported promptly.
- Identify practical opportunities to improve productivity, quality, safety, service and ways of working.
- Support the implementation of continuous-improvement initiatives and operational changes.
- Produce operational reports, statistics and updates when required.
- Work closely with other Team Leaders and departments to ensure good communication and smooth operation across the Distribution Centre.

- Experience within a fast-paced retail or e Commerce distribution environment.
- First Aid, IOSH and/or Fire Marshal qualification.
- Reach Truck or LLOP licence.
- RTITB or ITSSAR instructor/trainer qualification.
- Experience of Lean or continuous-improvement techniques.
- Experience training and assessing warehouse colleagues.

Competitive salary of up to £32,958 per annum.
