Purpose: Based in Market Harborough, Deichmann UK, a subsidiary of Deichmann SE is looking to recruit an enthusiastic & motivated individual to join our Finance & Payroll team as an Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis, £25,500 per annum.
Ideal candidate: Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful applicant will support and assist in all aspects of work undertaken within the Finance & Payroll Department, including accounts, imports, payroll, and general administration.
Key activities:
- Process incoming mail both electronically and otherwise
- Process import documentation for customs clearance and deal with any queries
- Check, manage and process business expenditure
- Verify and record key business expenses for analysis
- Responsible for monitoring relevant ledger accounts and dealing with any queries
- Complete tasks to assist in the production of monthly management accounts
- General administration associated with the Finance function
- Liaise with suppliers to resolve outstanding issues
- Assist in other departmental activity to deliver on deadlines and targets
Personal characteristics:
- Educated to GCSE A level or equivalent and/or have worked at this level
- Possess effective organisational skills
- Able to work to deadlines whilst maintaining attention to detail
- Have good IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel & Powerpoint)
- Able to work effectively on own initiative or as part of a team
- An effective communicator, both verbally and written
- Flexible approach to work and able to adapt to meet changing work priorities
- Motivated and enthusiastic
- Ideally have relevant previous experience of accounts payable/purchase ledger
