As a Junior Policy Analyst, you will be the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients, providing timely and relevant political information, live coverage and excellent customer service. You’ll support Analysts, Senior Analysts and Lead Analysts across portfolios, and work closely with colleagues in your team as well as across the business to deliver updates and insights. Junior Analysts also work with the commercial team to ensure clients receive the service they expect, supporting renewals and trial conversions.
This role is an ideal entry point into the client-facing side of our policy team, where you’ll gain experience in delivering political intelligence while developing commercial awareness and client relationship skills.
Key Responsibilities
Political Intelligence & Monitoring
- Provide timely political information and insight to clients through alerts, reports, and tailored updates.
- Deliver live coverage of parliamentary debates, press conferences, and key political events.
- Summarise and analyse legislation, debates, and inquiries with clarity and accuracy.
Sector Expertise & Research
- Build and maintain expertise in the culture, media, and home affairs policy landscape.
- Track political and policy developments that affect your clients’ interests.
- Attend relevant events (both online and in person) to strengthen your sector knowledge.
Client Engagement & Support
- Act as the first point of contact for your portfolio of clients, ensuring they receive excellent service.
- Develop strong client relationships through regular calls, updates, and meetings.
- Support analysts and senior colleagues with research projects and bespoke client requests.
Collaboration & Delivery
- Work closely with colleagues across the policy team to produce General Political Updates for all clients.
- Support the Lead Analyst in maintaining consistent service levels across the team.
- Keep PeoplePoint profiles updated and accurate.
- Contribute to commercial outcomes by supporting client renewals and trial conversions.
Your Experience & Knowledge
- A genuine interest in British politics, Parliament, and policy-making, especially in culture, media, and home affairs.
- Strong writing and analytical skills, with the ability to summarise complex issues clearly.
- Confident communicator with a professional and client-focused manner.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- Degree-level qualification in a relevant subject (or equivalent experience).
- Desirable: experience in a political, public affairs, or research role.
